Eric B. Epstein, Attorney
Skilled, Caring & Compassionate Lawyer & Mediator
Licensed to practice law in both the States of Florida and New York. I am also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator. I have been practicing law for over 22 years. Always desiring to expand upon my knowledge and skills, in 2016, I enrolled as a Graduate Student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University and I expect to graduate with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in July, 2018. It is important to me to continue to learn and understand human relationships and behaviors, as, at its core, all legal disputes and issues impact systemic relationships. The skills I have learned have been invaluable to me, and have greatly increased my ability to listen impartially, understand empathically, and to keep tensions and emotions in check during mediation sessions – even when hostilities and conflict are at their peak.
In 1991, I graduated from the New York University’s Stern school of Business with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. I then attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, and graduated in 1994 with a Juris Doctor Degree. Currently, in order to better understand how the emotional aspects that many legal disputes and issues impact my clients, I am a Master’s Degree student at Nova Southeastern University studying Marriage and Family Therapy. Upon Graduation, my goal is to combine both my law degree and my therapy degree to provide multiple assistance to clients and their families who are involved in difficult and emotionally-draining disputes and issues.
While living in New York, I was employed as an attorney by several litigation firms, before joining with a partner and opening our own firm in approximately 1996. In 2003, I left that partnership and opened my own practice and had offices in Manhattan, Queens and Long Island. As an attorney in New York, I concentrated on all aspects of civil litigation. I conducted and defended hundreds of depositions, engaged in trial and appellate work, and represented hundreds of clients. Between 2007-2008, I was an Arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York, County of Queens.
From 2009-2016, I, along with my wife, owned and operated a large private pre-school in West Palm Beach. During those seven years, we had the amazing opportunity and privilege to help educate and care for over 1500 children from ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. This experience taught me that life is not only about money, fame and fortune, but, at its core, getting up every day with the goal of helping people.
I am the proud father of two children, one of whom is severely developmental disabled and suffers from intractable Epilepsy.
Through the process of raising my daughter, and engaging with numerous other parents of special needs children, I realized that I wanted to focus my practice on areas of the law that truly help people and business in their daily lives.
My firm and practice is dedicated to specific niche areas of the law that enable me to focus my time, knowledge and passion into these specific areas. I focused on these particular areas and am creating and crowing my boutique firm in order to be able to provide personalized attention to my clients and their needs.
