To date, I have helped more than 500 divorcing spouses and parents reach fair and amicable agreements through the affordable PeacefulSplit® Divorce Mediation process, allowing them to avoid the stress, expense, and conflict of traditional litigation.
I am here to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, respecting your feelings and experiences without challenge. Your reality is valid and acknowledged. My role is to guide both of you toward a peaceful, mutually acceptable settlement, helping you move forward with your lives with clarity, respect, and as much peace as possible.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business in 1991, followed by a Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City in 1994. In 2018, I further expanded my expertise by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.
Lifelong learning is central to both my professional development and personal growth. By blending my formal education with decades of practical experience, I guide clients through the divorce process in a way that preserves their dignity, respect, and peace of mind.
This combination of legal, financial, and therapeutic knowledge allows me to approach each case holistically, understanding not only the legal complexities but also the emotional challenges that accompany divorce. My goal is to help clients reach fair, balanced agreements while fostering a supportive environment that encourages thoughtful decision-making and lasting resolutions.
I began my professional career in New York as an attorney at several litigation firms, where I gained invaluable experience in the complexities of civil litigation. After several years of honing my legal skills, I founded my own law firm in 1996. In 2003, I transitioned from that partnership to establish an independent practice with offices in Manhattan, Queens, and Long Island. Throughout my legal career in New York, I focused on all aspects of civil litigation, including conducting and defending hundreds of depositions, handling both trial and appellate work, and representing hundreds of clients across a diverse range of cases. Between 2007 and 2008, I served as an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York, County of Queens, where I adjudicated numerous disputes, further deepening my understanding of conflict resolution from a judicial perspective.
After nearly fifteen years of private practice in New York, I relocated to Florida to continue my legal career. I studied for and successfully passed the Florida Bar in 2010, expanding my practice into a new jurisdiction. Since then, I have dedicated my professional focus to helping couples amicably, respectfully, and peacefully mediate their divorces through the PeacefulSplit process. My approach centers on reducing conflict, saving clients time and money, and empowering families to make thoughtful decisions that serve their long-term well-being. **I never represent individual spouse in divorce**.
Drawing from my extensive background in litigation, arbitration, and mediation, I am uniquely positioned to guide clients through the complexities of divorce with both legal expertise and compassionate support. My goal is to provide a structured, fair, and efficient process that helps individuals move forward with dignity and peace of mind.
I am the proud father of two children—a son and a daughter. My daughter has significant special needs, and raising her has been both a profound journey and a source of immense personal growth. Navigating the complexities of parenting, from the everyday challenges to the extraordinary experiences that come with caring for a child with special needs, has given me a deep understanding of the emotional and practical struggles that families face. Through this journey, I came to recognize that families often encounter difficult and emotionally trying times without access to compassionate, understanding professionals to guide them through. This realization inspired me to rededicate my professional career to helping individuals and families manage life’s most challenging moments—particularly the complexities of divorce and its far-reaching impact on spouses, children, and the family unit as a whole.
I grew up in New York, where I spent the early part of my legal career before moving to Florida in 2008. Despite being out of law school for nearly 15 years at that point, I was determined to continue practicing law and serving families in my new community. I dedicated myself to preparing for the Florida Bar Exam and successfully passed it in 2010. Since then, I have further expanded my expertise by becoming a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. These credentials, combined with my personal experiences and legal background, enable me to approach divorce mediation with both professional skill and genuine empathy—helping clients navigate emotionally charged situations with dignity, understanding, and a focus on peaceful resolutions.
